In the first 8 months of 2017 Bauska Brewery raised it’s sales volume, compared to the corresponding months in 2016. Sales of beer rose by 3%, that is 6428 dkl, and sales of non-alcoholic beverages rose by 8% or 2632 dkl. The highest increase was that of the fermented tea fungus drink, ‘Dr. Kombucha’, and that of the hibiscus-flavoured ‘Dr. Kombucha’. Sales volume of these two rose by 226%, three times more than the corresponding sales of 2016 .
“Despite the cold and rainy summer and the early arrival of autumn, seasonal factors that severely affected the choices, consumers made with respect to beverages, we have raised our sales volume, compared to the first eight months of 2016. Despite the wide variety of beer, available on the Latvian market, local consumers have been favouring those brews, they know and trust, as evidenced by these sales results. This year we continue to reconstruct and modernise the company . We installed a new gas boiler and new fermentation equipment at a total investment of 328,011euro, “ related SIA “Bauskas alus” board member Vladimir Barskov.
Since 1981 Bauska Brewery has been producing beer strictly in accordance with ancestral brewing technology and in so doing the brewery has been able to retain the unique taste, so favoured by customers . The company produces not only beer but also the highly popular non-alcoholic malt drinks, ‘Veselība’ and ‘Porteris’, the fermented tea fungus drink, ‘Dr. Kombucha’, and the naturally fermented ‘Kvass’.
